DINO MORAN
After 16 years of rocking the world from Sweden to Swaziland and to Miami to Maputo, African born Dino Moran is now a global icon.
Night…
His up-beat and up-lifting Dj sets are a highlight of the events he performs at. Whether tearing the roof off at “The Cross” in London at one of his good friend Danny Rambling’s “Union” nights or the entrancing set he played for the 10 000 people at last new years NYE beach party in Mozambique, broadcast live to the planet on his radio show “The Night Watchmen” for Good Hope FM Cape Town he all ways gets the party started and keeps it rocking till morning light.
His collaboration with South African shock theater director Brett Baily of “Third World Bun Fight” created “House of the holy afro” a ritualistic, theater, house party, pop art, fusion show which has received massive media acclaim in over 18 countries and headlined a Edinburgh festival 2007, Life Ball Vienna, Common Wealth Games festival Melbourne, Eye of the Cyclone” Reunion and Sydney Festival to name a few.
This is just one of Dino’s forward thinking new world concept shows where he fuses the tribal African rhythms and uplifting African songs of praise with cutting edge technology to forge his unique flavour and pushing African music forward towards tomorrow as a mass global force.
Since his birth in Mozambique he has felt most at home in the mother land and loves nothing more than playing to a cross cultural crowd in one of the magical locations Africa has to offer. He is equally at home in the Namib desert playing at a mad max style beach bar wedged between the dunes and the freezing Atlantic ocean, Madiba’s birthday party in a packed and rowdy soccer stadium or rolling with the jet set and super models at “M-net’s Nokia Face of Africa” pageant in Sun City Super Bowl.

Most of all Dino likes a small intimate local crowd in his home town of the Cape Town at one his of his favorite local clubs like “Bang Bang” or “Karma Lounge” or one of his monthly national residencies, JHB at Latinova and in DBN Raffels in Umhlunga.
Even back in the day as one of South Africa’s first career DJs Dino's influence on the countries party culture has been felt. Credited with being a major force as resident DJ for Mother raves, Pharcyde events, DNA (PTA), Nexus (JHB), Zone, Spyce, The Fez club, Rhodes House all legends! Why?
Lest not forget that he converted an average down town JHB night club called “ESP” into an all day world famous weekly Sunday event.
In short all who have heard him agree that a night out with Dino is a night to remember!
…..and Day.
He spends his waking hours in his studio producing music and has had awesome success with both his own original work and remixes he has done for others. His first big break came in 2003 when House music super power “Defected records” signed “Cheza” for two of there compilations that sold and are still selling hundreds of thousands of units all over the world. Next his remix for South African R&B stars Reddangel reached top 5 biggest track in Ibiza 2004, Following that he had a production residency on South Africas best selling Afro chill-out compilation “Café de Afrique” releasing songs on all of the first 3 land mark compilations. Currently his amalgamation with German House giants “Milk & Sugar” on an original song of his called “Gumba Fire” is burning up dance floors and setting the radio charts alight worldwide and his latest remix for “Gold Fish” is set to be a top Ibiza anthem for 2008 and has all ready led to Pacha recordings requesting more of his remixes for there other artists.
You can find Dino's work on at least 40 other local at international CDs and he is working hard to short list 16 of his 48 productions for his artist album to be released later this year.
Dedicating a lot of time and energy over the past 6years to his two radio shows” and which he and his radio partner Craig De Sousa has paid serious dividends as his audiences keep growing and growing and the reputation of both there Fri eve party show “The Night Watchmen” and new Sunday sunset chill out sessions “Good Times” are one of the best examples of radio broadcast in South Africa.
He also does commercial and sound tracking work for networks like MNET, BBC and ad agencies like TBWA Hunt Lascaris, DDB who he works closely with to design an audio identity for there brands e.g. Spar, MTN, Nokia, Sun City etc
Hope FM. He is a regular guest on other major stations like Roger Goode’s “Surgery” or Fresh on 5fm.
In any spare time Dino finds out of his hectic touring and studio schedule he dons his wetsuit and goes big wave windsurfing with his friend the Cape Doctor, crewing on “Puma un-leashed” maxi racing yacht or skippering his Hobie 16 to 12 place in this years national championships.
What a life……..
“Diverse, Future focused and leading the way DINO MORAN is tomorrow’s sound today!!!”
